Hailing from a traditional Marwari business family rooted in Pilani with a history in coal mining, Akshat Loyalka steered the family's trajectory toward success. Following the nationalization of coal mines, the family transitioned into the manufacturing of handmade woolen carpets, achieving the status of India's largest manufacturer and exporter in 1991, with accolades and awards recognizing their accomplishments.
